The General Manager will oversee and be responsible for the management of the organisation's financial, physical and human resources, with particular emphasis on the development of the organisation's profile and Prominence within the sports industry. All of this should be done in alignment with the NSA's Multi-Year Sports Plan.

The General Manager will be responsible to:

Staff
  • Recommend, review and develop sports management and administration programmes and support schemes as well as policies to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of SHF's management practices and capabilities.
  • Provide direction and oversee the work of all staff.
  • Ensure optimal staffing requirements.
  • Motivate and manage a highly skilled and multi-disciplinary team.
  • Plan, appraise and monitor staff development.
  • Set up and monitor the effectiveness of communication channels to ensure that the Executive Board (EB), sub-committees, staff and members are kept informed of activities.
  • Advertise for new staff if vacancies occur. Shortlist and interview applicants for advertised positions together with relevant personnel.

Finance
  • Oversee the overall budget for SHF in collaboration with the Finance Personnel, and Hon. Treasurer.
  • Ensure that individual budgets for each programme are submitted and coordinated.
  • Oversee the production of marketing documents for SHF and gain sponsorship for all programmes.
  • Monitor and approve all finances throughout the year by requesting detailed budgets from the Committee Chairpersons before activities are carried out and ensure that a detailed list of all expenditure accompanied by receipts is submitted.

Public Relations
  • Oversee the preparation of all press releases and ensure that the releases are sent out at appropriate times for all activities.
  • Proof and edit all official documents and written communication to ensure that they fulfil both the needs of SHF and Sponsors.
  • Coordinate the production and distribution of the Annual Calendar of Events.
  • Ensure that the website is regularly updated and monitored.
  • To liaise with Key Stakeholders.

Executive Board
  • Provide support for all EB activities.
  • Attend EB meetings to keep the committee informed of Secretariat plans.
  • Ensure EB members receive relevant documents.
  • Keep EB members regularly informed of SHF activities.
  • Prepare the Annual Report for presentation at the Annual General Meeting.

Sport Singapore (SportSg)
  • Provide a direct link between SHF, the SportSg and other NSAs.
  • Prepare the four-year plan and annual operational plan in accordance with the requirements of the SportSg, as and where it is required.
  • Ensure that all operations and procedures conform to the prevailing regulations, policies and guidelines issued by the SportSg from time to time.
  • To ensure proper governance and stewardship over the properties, assets and monies of the SHF.
  • Assist the EB to establish sound governance and accountabilities systems and processes.
  • To indicate desired outcomes for the position during the period of contract. (i.e. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to be quantified and to specify the time frame for achieving the targets accordingly). This is to be done six months after the commencement of employment. To agree upon KPIs by the SHF, SportSg and GM.
  • To submit quarterly reports to SportSg and the SHF on progress made in the specified areas of responsibilities.
  • Responsible for the timely submission of reports and quality business information to SportSg.

International Affairs
  • Oversee all Name of International Body requirements.
  • Establish links with countries to further the sports.
