We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Manager, Chartering/ General Manager, Chartering to lead and manage our chartering activities across multiple vessel types and regions. The successful candidate will be responsible for vessel sourcing, contract negotiations, market analysis, client management, and strategic planning, contributing directly to the company's commercial success and growth.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identify and source suitable vessels in line with the company's business requirements.
- Negotiate and fix vessels for spot and time charter contracts within assigned market segments.
- Draft, review, and finalize charter party agreements and related contracts.
- Develop and implement chartering strategies aligned with corporate goals and market conditions.
- Oversee all chartering activities across various vessel types and operational regions.
- Build, strengthen, and maintain strategic partnerships with major cargo owners, shipowners, brokers, and charterers to support business growth.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between vessel owners and internal stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and relationship management.
- Collaborate closely with internal departments (such as Operations, Legal, and Commercial teams) on vessel search, candidate shortlisting, and contract negotiations.
- Ensure contract compliance and monitor voyage performance, working in conjunction with the Operations and legal teams.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of charter agreements, correspondence, and fixture details.
- Monitor fixture reports, analyze chartering market trends, and provide timely market intelligence and insights to senior management.
- Manage the P&L (Profit and Loss) for the chartering department, ensuring financial targets and KPIs are achieved.
- Represent the company in major industry events, conferences, and high-level negotiations.
- Perform any other ad hoc duties as assigned by management.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience in the maritime industry in a similar role, preferably within the shipowner or shipping sectors.
- Bachelor's degree in Maritime Management, Shipping, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven track record of successful charter negotiations and deal closures.
- Familiarity with containership types and specifications, with a strong understanding of market trends and charter market pricing.
- Significant experience in both chartering and operations within the maritime industry.
- Strong ability to negotiate, finalize agreements, and build strategic partnerships.
- Ability to make informed commercial decisions based on up-to-date market intelligence.
- Prior experience in managing P&L responsibilities is highly desirable.
- Ability to submit accurate reports and provide timely market updates to management.
- Skilled in building and maintaining strong relationships with vessel owners, brokers, and industry stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage competing demands, and adapt in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Solid general IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
