As the WMS Lead, you will take charge of new implementation projects, working closely with the operations team and local project members to ensure seamless execution. Your primary responsibility will be to drive the design, planning, and execution of warehouse management system (WMS) solutions within our facilities. With your expertise in WMS integration and optimization, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing warehouse efficiency and streamlining operations across multiple locations. Your meticulous planning, technical proficiency, and leadership will be critical to ensuring successful implementation and sustained operational excellence
Key Responsibilities
• WMS rollout and implementation: Lead the end-to-end deployment of WMS, ensuring alignment with business objectives and operational needs. Ensure adherence to project timelines and milestones, while maintaining system integrity and minimizing disruption to daily operations.
• Requirement Gathering: Work closely with stakeholders, including operations, IT, and customers, to collect and document detailed business and functional requirements for the WMS
• Creating Functional & Technical Specifications: Develop comprehensive functional and technical specifications, outlining system configurations, process workflows, data mapping, and integration requirements with other enterprise systems (ERP, TMS, etc.).
• Configuration and customization: Configure and customize WMS software with vendor to align with specific warehouse processes, including inventory management, order fulfilment, receiving, picking, packing, and shipping.
• Process Optimization: Collaborate with operations and project teams to streamline warehouse workflows, leveraging WMS capabilities for efficiency gains.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with internal teams, customers, software vendors, and third-party logistics providers to facilitate seamless integration
• Training: You are required to provide training to our super-users in the new system and expected to support the training roll-out in every Country. You will also be responsible for preparing and maintaining training materials and securing knowledge from the vendor.
• Testing and Execution: Manage the vendor and take part in consulting, implementation, users training, UAT/go-live and support of the new WMS solutions.
• Support and maintenance: Provide ongoing support to end-users by addressing their WMS-related inquiries, troubleshooting issues, and resolving system-related problems in a timely manner. Collaborate with IT teams to perform routine system maintenance, upgrades, and patches.
• Issue Resolution & Continuous Improvement: Troubleshoot system issues, propose enhancements, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
• Stakeholder communication: Communicate effectively with key stakeholders, including management, project teams, and end-users, to provide project updates, gather feedback, and address any concerns or challenges.
Qualification & Experience
▪ Bachelor's or equivalent degree in IT, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field. ▪ 5-10 years of experience in WMS set-up and other logistics IT applications, preferably in 3PL environment.
▪ In-depth knowledge of WMS software, such as Infor, Oracle, Blue Yonder, SAP EWM, Manhattan Associates, or similar systems.
▪ Have worked on IT projects with operations and possess good understanding of warehouse operations, including inventory control, order management, and logistics processes.
▪ Have done integration projects with customer's systems and familiar with integration methods, data migration, and system interfaces.
▪ Experience in IT project management from planning to execution phase and able to identify and manage project risks to avoid any disruption to operations and business.
▪ Excellent problem-solving skills and able to analyse complex data, identify patterns, and propose data-driven solutions.
▪ Good communications skills and able to adapt to different working cultures and can manage independently to resolve any challenges and conflicts
▪ Ability to communicate clearly and convey technical concepts to non-technical individuals to operations.
▪ Demonstrate initiative to adopt a continuous learning approach with passion to stay afloat with updated trends and advancements in WMS technologies and industry best practices.
