The Logistics Officer is responsible for overseeing the storage, transportation, and distribution of goods, ensuring efficient and cost-effective supply chain operations. This role involves coordinating with suppliers, clients, and internal teams to maintain timely deliveries while adhering to company policies and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Transportation and Delivery Management:Plan and monitor inbound and outbound logistics operations, including transportation, shipping, and delivery schedules.
    Coordinate with carriers, suppliers, and freight forwarders to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods.
  2. Inventory and Warehouse Management:Track and manage inventory levels, ensuring accuracy and availability of stock.
    Oversee warehouse operations, including storage optimization, packing, and order fulfillment.
  3. Supply Chain Coordination:Liaise with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely procurement of materials.
    Collaborate with other departments (e.g., procurement, production) to align logistics activities with company goals.
  4. Compliance and Documentation:Prepare and maintain shipping documents, invoices, customs declarations, and other necessary records.
    Ensure compliance with local and international regulations, including safety and environmental standards.
  5. Performance Monitoring and Reporting:Analyze logistics data to identify areas for improvement and cost reduction.
    Generate regular reports on logistics activities, delivery performance, and inventory status.
  6. Problem Resolution:Address and resolve logistics issues such as delivery delays, damaged goods, or inventory discrepancies.
    Develop contingency plans to mitigate risks in the supply chain.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education:
    Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Technical Skills:Proficiency in logistics and inventory management software (e.g., SAP, WMS, or TMS).
    Strong understanding of supply chain processes and best practices.
    Knowledge of shipping regulations and documentation requirements.
  • Soft Skills:Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
    Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
    Effective communication and interpersonal skills for dealing with diverse stakeholders.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or related roles.
  • Prior experience in the industry relevant to the company (e.g., Marine, Construction, Oil & Gas) is a plus.

Working Conditions:

  • Office-based with occasional travel to warehouses, ports, or suppliers' locations.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours during peak periods or in response to emergencies.
