Business Systems Analyst, EIT

In today's rapidly changing world, NTU is facing unprecedented challenges in adapting its student administration processes to keep up with the ever-evolving needs and expectations of students.

The Business Systems Analyst plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between business needs and technology solutions. They act as intermediaries between business stakeholders and IT teams, translating business requirements into functional specifications for IT systems, coordinating the integration activities of Student Management System with Blackboard Learning Management System, Internship Management System (inPlace), Career Portal, etc. BSA is responsible for ensuring that IT systems effectively support business operations, enhance efficiency, and align with organizational goals.

Responsibilities:

Provides business users support
  • Servicing change requests pertaining to policy change, statutory or academic or operations requirements
  • Resolving system incidents

Supporting change management
  • Managing resistance
  • Facilitating user training and coaching


Understand future business goals and ongoing IT issues
  • Ensuring business success


Identify opportunities for improving business processes
  • Identifying opportunities that can improve efficiency of business processes


Provide technical expertise and recommendations
  • Assessing new IT software projects to support future system


Requirements:
  • Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a business analysis role is typically required. This experience should include working on IT projects, interacting with stakeholders, and participating in the full project lifecycle.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills are crucial for understanding complex business processes and translating them into IT solutions.
  • Communication Skills: Effective written and verbal communication skills are necessary for interacting with diverse stakeholders and documenting requirements and project progress.
  • Problem-Solving: The ability to identify issues, propose solutions, and make decisions is essential for addressing challenges in system analysis and implementation.
  • Project Management: Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools to plan, execute, and control projects effectively.
  • Technical Proficiency: The job holder should be comfortable working with various IT tools and software, and have the ability to adapt to new technologies as needed.
  • Teamwork and Collaboration: Collaboration skills are important for working with cross-functional teams, business users, and IT professionals.
  • Adaptability: The job holder should be open to learning and adapting to new technologies and business environments.
  • Time Management: Effective time management to meet project deadlines and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
