Logistics Project Manager

Position Overview

A Logistics Project Manager is responsible for planning,executing, and overseeing logistics and supply chain projects to ensure timelydelivery, cost efficiency, and operational excellence. The role involvescoordinating with internal departments, suppliers, transporters, and clients toachieve project objectives within scope and budget.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

1. Project Planning & Execution

Define project scope, objectives, timelines, anddeliverables

Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets

Allocate resources effectively (manpower, transport,warehouse, equipment)

Monitor project progress and ensure milestones are met

2. Logistics & Supply Chain Coordination

Oversee transportation, warehousing, and distributionactivities

Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, and customsbrokers

Ensure smooth import/export operations and compliance withregulations

Manage inventory movement and optimize supply chainprocesses

3. Stakeholder & Vendor Management

Liaise with clients, internal departments, and externalpartners

Negotiate contracts, rates, and service agreements withvendors

Ensure vendor performance meets service level agreements(SLAs)

Maintain strong business relationships

4. Budget & Cost Control

Prepare and manage project budgets

Monitor logistics costs and identify cost-savingopportunities

Ensure projects are completed within approved financiallimits

5. Risk Management & Compliance

Identify potential project risks and develop mitigationstrategies

Ensure compliance with local and international shippingregulations

Maintain proper documentation for audits and reporting

6. Performance Monitoring & Reporting

Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as deliverytimelines, cost efficiency, and service quality

Prepare regular progress and performance reports formanagement

Recommend process improvements to enhance operationalefficiency

7. Team Leadership & Coordination

Lead cross-functional teams including warehouse, transport,and procurement staff

Assign tasks and monitor team performance

Provide training and guidance to improve team capabilities

Education Qualification & Experience

Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in any Field

Experience
  • Minimum 4-5 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management
  • Strong knowledge of transportation, warehousing, and distribution operations
  • Experience in import/export procedures and regulatory compliance
