We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented individual to join us on a 1-year contract basis to support Tcube. Tcube, or the Tourism Technology Transformation Cube, brings STB's digital initiatives, resources and thought-leadership content onto a single platform to support our sector's digital transformation. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, research, and translating industry needs into clear technology and business insights. You will play a key role in shaping how technology is applied meaningfully across the tourism sector.

• Industry Problem Discovery
  
  1. Engage STB's industry development teams and tourism stakeholders to drive focus group discussions and interviews.
  2. Identify, validate, and articulate priority industry problem statements and pain points.

• Industry & Technology Assessment

1. Develop a strong understanding of the industry landscape related to identified problem areas.
2. Assess whether technology is the appropriate solution and identify gaps in current industry capabilities.

• Technology Scanning & Solution Evaluation

1. Conduct market research to identify relevant and emerging technology solutions, including those from adjacent industries.
2. Shortlist and evaluate promising solutions and technology companies for potential piloting and adoption.

• Impact Analysis & Advisory

1. Size the industry problem and assess the potential impact of proposed technology solutions.
2. Advise on high-level technical requirements for deployment and utilization.
3. Document key business considerations such as cost-benefit, training needs, and operational risks to support decision-making.
4. Define key success factors and identify relevant metrics

What are we looking for?

• Prior experience in tech consulting, tech analysis, or tech research is required.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a structured way of thinking.
• Comfortable engaging industry stakeholders and facilitating discussions.
• Resourceful in researching technologies and market trends.
• Able to connect business needs with technology possibilities.
• Able to work effectively and independently.
• Good writing and communication skills - able to explain complex ideas simply.
• Interest in tourism, innovation, or technology transformation.
