Our client is seeking for a dynamic and experienced Operations Manager to join their road freight team to manage and optimize cross-border road freight operations linking Singapore with Malaysia and other ASEAN markets. This role combines hands-on operational control with product design, cost management, and close customer engagement. Based at north-east Singapore

Key Responsibilities

Cross-Border Operations Management

Oversee day-to-day cross-border trucking activities for inbound and outbound movements across Singapore, Malaysia, and regional ASEAN corridors

Plan capacity, manage exceptions, and resolve operational disruptions to ensure smooth cargo flow

Work closely with customs brokers, warehouse teams, and customers to ensure compliance and seamless border clearance

Maintain strong on-time pickup and delivery performance aligned with contractual SLAs

Product Development & Operational Excellence

Design, implement, and manage logistics products such as consolidation and multi-modal solutions

Define service parameters including scope, transit lead times, cut-off schedules, and service standards

Support commercial and pricing activities by providing clear service definitions and cost structures

Continuously improve product offerings based on operational data, customer feedback, and market dynamics

Cost Control & Performance Optimization

Monitor and optimize operating costs, including fuel, toll charges, fleet utilization, and vendor expenses

Track and analyze key performance metrics such as on-time delivery, truck turnaround time, and cost per trip

Drive productivity and efficiency improvements at lane and corridor level

Customer & Stakeholder Engagement

Serve as the primary operational contact for customers in Singapore and internal regional stakeholders

Manage service escalations related to delays, customs issues, or performance gaps

Collaborate closely with sales, customer service, finance, and regional operations teams

Prepare and present KPI reports, milestone updates, and performance reviews for customers
