Role Overview

This is a senior leadership role with full accountability across multi-site warehouse operations, solution design, commercial support, customer management, and P&L performance. The role requires a strong balance of operational excellence and commercial mindset, with the ability to design profitable solutions while maintaining service quality and cost discipline.

Responsibilities:

Operations Leadership

• Provide overall leadership and governance for multiple warehouse and logistics operations.
• Drive operational excellence across productivity, cost control, safety, quality, and service KPIs.
• Lead, coach, and develop senior operations managers and site leadership teams.
• Ensure operational compliance with regulatory, safety, and customer standards.

Warehouse Solution Design & Pricing:

• Lead or support warehouse solution design for new business and renewals.
• Partner with commercial and solutions teams to develop cost-effective and scalable logistics solutions.
• Validate operational assumptions including manpower, space, equipment, automation, and process flows.
• Support pricing, tender responses, and RFQs, ensuring solutions are operationally sound and commercially viable.

P&L & Financial Ownership

• Full accountability for P&L performance across assigned operations.
• Drive margin improvement through productivity initiatives, cost optimization, and process re-engineering.
• Ensure each project and customer contract is structured to deliver sustainable profitability.
• Track financial performance at project and site level, identifying risks and corrective actions early.

Customer & Stakeholder Management

• Act as senior escalation point for key customers.
• Build strong, trusted relationships with strategic accounts.
• Partner closely with internal stakeholders across sales, finance, engineering, and HR to deliver customer commitments.
• Support contract negotiations, renewals, and scope changes from an operational and financial perspective.

Continuous Improvement & Transformation

• Champion Lean / CI initiatives to improve efficiency and scalability.
• Lead operational transformation projects including process standardisation, system implementation, and automation where applicable.
• Translate business strategy into executable operational roadmaps.

Requirements

• Proven experience in contract logistics / warehousing operations within logistics service providers.
• Minimum 10-15 years of progressive experience, with senior management / director-level exposure.
• Strong track record managing multi-site warehouse operations.
• Solid experience in warehouse solution design, pricing support, and tender management.
• Demonstrated P&L ownership with clear understanding of cost structures and margin drivers.
• Strong commercial acumen - able to assess how each project is planned, priced, and delivered profitably.
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills.
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, complex environment with multiple customers and projects.
