Role Overview

The Junior Technical Business Analyst supports business and technical teams in delivering ICT systems and enhancements. The role involves requirements gathering, documentation, testing support, and coordination with stakeholders and vendors. The Junior Technical BA performs these responsibilities under guidance from senior team members or project leads.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Oversee and support coordination with vendors and external ICT service providers, working closely with application and infrastructure teams to deliver projects and enhancements aligned with business outcomes
• Review, and where required, support Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) activities and assist in troubleshooting infrastructure and platform-level issues
• Perform basic configuration tasks in the AWS Management Console to support solution setup, validation, and troubleshooting
• Support project management activities including scope, schedule, documentation, and status reporting
• Support project activities such as requirements gathering, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), training, and implementation
• Review and validate project deliverables such as functional specifications, test plans, test results, user guides, and operations manuals
• Assist in technical analysis of system architecture, integrations, APIs, and data flows to assess impacts and dependencies
• Collaborate with solution architects, infrastructure teams, and developers to ensure solutions meet business and technical requirements
• Support assessment of change and service requests, including impact analysis and solution options
• Assist in monitoring Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for projects and incidents
• Support identification of project risks and assist in tracking mitigation actions
• Ensure compliance with IT governance, quality management standards, and security policies
• Support day-to-day IT related issues related to applications, infrastructure, or security
• Assist in coordinating resolution of security vulnerabilities
• Participate in requirements workshops to elicit user requirements, analyse business processes and system interactions, and document problem statements and proposed solutions

Knowledge & Skills

• Tertiary education in a relevant field is preferred
• Hands-on experience in at least one full project development lifecycle
• Consulting or Business Analysis experience is advantageous
• Business Analysis certifications (e.g. CCBA®, CBAP®) are advantageous
• Knowledge of, or exposure to, the following areas is preferred: 1. Cloud infrastructure and applications, including Infrastructure-as-Code concepts 2. AWS cloud services, configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting 3. Government processes, policies, and compliance requirements
• Strong analytical, conceptualisation, and problem-solving skills
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proactive team player with strong organisation and interpersonal skills

Experience Requirement

• 2-4 years of relevant working experience as a Business Analyst or Technical Business Analyst
