Roles & Responsibilities

Job Description

1. Operations Management

Both roles are responsible for end-to-end daily operations.

• \tOverseeing workflows and processes

• \tEnsuring smooth, efficient operations

• \tMeeting output or service targets

• \tManaging operational schedules and timelines

2. Team Leadership & Staff Management

Strong people management is central to both roles.

• \tHiring, training, and supervising staff

• \tScheduling shifts and managing workforce capacity

• \tMotivating teams to meet performance standards

• \tResolving staff conflicts and performance issues

3. Quality Control & Standards Compliance

Both roles ensure consistency and compliance.

• \tMaintaining quality standards (product or service)

• \tEnsuring compliance with safety, hygiene, and legal regulations

• \tImplementing standard operating procedures (SOPs)

• \tConducting regular checks and audits

4. Inventory & Supply Chain Management

Managing resources efficiently is critical.

• \tMonitoring inventory levels

• \tOrdering supplies and managing vendors

• \tReducing waste and controlling costs

• \tEnsuring uninterrupted supply for operations

5. Financial & Cost Control

Both roles are accountable for budgets and profitability.

• \tManaging operating costs

• \tAnalyzing performance reports

• \tImproving efficiency to increase margins

• \tForecasting needs and planning expenditures

6. Performance Monitoring & Reporting

Tracking results and improving outcomes.

• \tSetting KPIs and performance targets

• \tMonitoring productivity and efficiency

• \tPreparing reports for senior management

• \tImplementing corrective actions where needed

7. Problem-Solving & Decision Making

Fast, effective decisions are essential.

• \tHandling operational issues in real time

• \tManaging unexpected challenges (staff shortages, equipment failures)

• \tPrioritizing tasks under pressure

• \tMaking data-driven decisions

8. Customer / Stakeholder Focus

While the audience differs, the mindset is the same.

• \tEnsuring customer satisfaction (diners or clients)

• \tManaging complaints and feedback

• \tCoordinating with stakeholders (suppliers, owners, corporate teams)

• \tUpholding brand and organizational reputation

9. Health, Safety & Risk Management

Both roles carry responsibility for workplace safety.

• \tEnsuring safe working environments

• \tTraining staff on safety procedures

• \tManaging incidents and corrective actions

• \tComplying with regulatory requirements

Job Requirements

*At least 10 years' experience as General Manager in restaurants

*Demonstrable managerial experience in customer service.

*Extensive knowledge of food and beverages (F&B), including the capacity to recall recipes and ingredients to advise patrons and wait staff.

*Knowledge of restaurant management programs such as Peach Works and OpenTable.

*Strong people, motivational, and leadership abilities.

*Acute knowledge of money management.
