Position Summary

This position is responsible for leading a team in the management of warehouse operations to achieve the operations key performance index and the required service standards. This may include managing the warehousing and inventory management system, physical distribution operations, implementing logistics technology, customer liaison and relationship, organization development and training.

Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities

• \tLead and manage the logistics operations to achieve the operations key performance index and the required service standards

• \tMonitor and analyze P&L of the operations, establish business controls and provide solutions to reduce cost and increase revenue.

• \tDefines roles and responsibilities, plans for the department's future needs and operations; counsels employees on performance

• \tWorks collaboratively with client and departmental staff to assure operational effectiveness, adherence to polices and procedures and maximization of flow of all incoming and outgoing material.

• \tSupervises and develops staff and otherwise carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws

• \tEnsuring information/knowledge resources can be readily accessed and easily retrieved Manages quality system and continuous process improvement within the facility

• \tAdditional responsibilities include, process development and continuous improvement and managing total productivity.

• \tResponsible for meeting and exceeding customer metrics (cost, quality, Customer Service and Supplier Performance)

• \tDefines requirements for operation and ensures the implementation of new strategies and initiatives to effectively meet or exceed requirements & customer expectations.

• \tDrive Lean Warehousing System.

• \tEnsure safe work environment for all employees

• \tAdministers and communicates company policies

• \tRegularly reviews performance expectations with leadership team. Providing expectations, performance planning, feedback to team members.

• \tResponsible for the training & development and performance discussions with staff.

• \tMaintain good working relationships with customers

Qualification Summary:

Experience:

• \tThis position requires at least 8 years of experience in logistics operations management providing overall direction, implementation, and continuous improvement in all phases of logistics solutions.

Education:

• \tDegree in Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering or equivalent

Skills:

Technical Skills

• \tGood working knowledge of the following operations areas - domestic distribution, warehouse management, inventory planning, transportation management and logistics execution systems.

• \tThis position requires highly developed computer skills, with a focus on MS Office suite products.

• \tProven transportation /logistics / supply chain management knowledge

• \tStrategic thinking ability, proven implementation results

• \tSuperior customer relationship management skills

• \tIn depth knowledge of international transportation, with regional emphasis/expertise

• \tExcellent negotiation experience with subcontractors, transporters, & vendors.

• \tExperience with customs and regulatory issues related to logistics

• \tA proven, experienced resource in solutions and implementations

• \tStrong problem-solving skills

• \tAbility to re-prioritize workload to support urgent requests from various operations.

Working hours:

Mon to Fri: 8:30am to 6pm
