The Operations Manager oversees daily manufacturing activities and drives continuous improvement across assembly, testing, IQC, and QA functions. This role ensures strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), leads process enhancement initiatives, and mentors staff to strengthen operational efficiency and quality standards. The Operations Manager also manages Returned Material Authorization (RMA) investigations and collaborates closely with the Programme Management & Support, QA, and Production team to resolve technical issues effectively.

Qualifications
The Operations Manager oversees daily manufacturing activities and drives continuous improvement across assembly, testing, IQC, and QA functions. This role ensures strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), leads process enhancement initiatives, and mentors staff to strengthen operational efficiency and quality standards. The Operations Manager also manages Returned Material Authorization (RMA) investigations and collaborates closely with the Programme Management & Support, QA, and Production team to resolve technical issues effectively.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operations & Process Management
- Manage and optimise day-to-day manufacturing operations across assembly, testing, IQC, and QA.
- Review and refine work processes to ensure compliance with operational standards and regulatory requirements. IPC, Supplier' SQR etc
- Develop, update, and implement work instructions, SOPs, and other process documentation.
- Ensure consistent alignment with and enforcement of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
2. Staff Leadership, Mentorship & Development
- Mentor staff in performing assembly-related Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) for new projects.
- Instil a strong culture of GMP discipline, 5S practices, Kaizen methodologies, and value engineering.
- Provide coaching and technical guidance to enhance staff competence, efficiency, and process ownership.
- Conduct training sessions on work instructions, quality standards, and continuous improvement practices.
3. RMA Management & Troubleshooting
- Serve as the first point of escalation for RMA cases.
- Review RMA issues with Programme Management & Support, QA and Production team to identify and confirm root causes.
- Work with the production and QA teams to evaluate process, material or assembly-related issues.
- Coordinate with SCM when issues involve materials, supply chain, or vendor-related concerns.
- Drive corrective and preventive actions to avoid recurrence of RMA-related problems.
4. Programme Management & Support
- Oversee project planning, resource alignment, and milestone progress to ensure smooth, on-time execution.
- Guide and review the employee's quality and technical responsibilities, including FAIs, product verification, and onsite support performance.
- Manage customer-related escalations and ensure strong documentation governance.
- Drive cross-functional coordination to support successful project execution.
5. Production Performance & Technical Support
- Monitor delivery performance and ensure on-time delivery for assigned projects.
- Track RMA turnaround performance
- Support troubleshooting of technical issues and implement process improvements to strengthen production efficiency.
6. Continuous Improvement
- Identify improvement opportunities across workflows, assembly/testing processes, and material flow.
- Lead and promote continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Kaizen events, 5S, value engineering).
- Implement process optimisation strategies to reduce defects, improve efficiency, and minimise operational waste.
- Oversee CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) activities and ensure timely completion of improvement actions.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing operations, high-mix low-volume environments and worksite management.
- Solid knowledge of GMP, assembly/testing processes, process controls, and quality systems.
- Experience in FMEA (Process) , troubleshooting, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Strong leadership, communication, and analytical problem-solving skills.
