Responsibilities
Strategic Involvement:
- Assist the AF team with the origination and execution of deals, collaborating effectively with MUFG branches and relevant divisions.
- Prepare, maintain, and update various internal reports pertaining to AF transactions.
- Conduct Borrower Rating processes and credit analysis for existing and prospective clients.
- Develop credit applications for potential transactions.
- Aid in transaction documentation tasks, liaising with internal and external stakeholders as needed.
- Uphold operational solidness and adherence to internal process for transaction bookings.
- Source, analyze, and share market data with Global Aviation Finance Office ("GAFO") concerning AF's clientele, investors, finance partners, and other market entities.
Financial Management:
- Support the AF team in the origination and execution of deals, cooperating closely with respective MUFG branches to meet the team's financial goals and fulfill Key Performance Indicators.
Customer relationship:
- Cultivate and manage relationships with existing and prospective AF clientele with a goal to originate mandates for leading debt issuance and arrangement of transactions, including warehouse financings, portfolio financings, Pre-Delivery Payment ("PDP") financing, Asset-Backed Security ("ABS") type transactions, Japanese Operating Lease with a Call Option ("JOLCO") financing, and airline structured bonds.
Teamwork
- Provide guidance and facilitate the transfer of knowledge to junior team members.
- Actively liaise with numerous departments and collaborate closely with GAFO to foster a cohesive global aviation team.
- To liaise and collaborate with stakeholders in Tokyo Head Office and prepare detailed reports to be presented in Japanese during Meetings and Conferences
Risk & Control:
- Ensure transactions align with the Bank's risk profile requirements and perform thorough analysis on transactional risks or related aspects, acquiring necessary credit approvals.
- Oversee and maintain credit compliance for executed transactions not yet transferred to the Portfolio Management team.
- Comply with all applicable MAS regulations and MUFG group policies.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum JLPT N1 Certification, a degree from a Japanese university or equivalent required is required due to the operational need to effectively communicate with Japanese stakeholders and senior management at Tokyo Head Office for aviation finance business and to act as a key contact person for the transactions.
- Minimum 4 years of work experience in aircraft finance.
- Experience in performing credit assessments, credit review and monitoring.
- Solid understanding of banking operations complemented by exceptional communication, written and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with legal principles and demonstrable knowledge in documenting aircraft finance transactions.
- Robust business insight with a proven knack for closing deals.
- Effective communication skills are required for internal and external stakeholder engagement
- Self-starter attitude, cooperative team player while capable of operating independently with a customer-centric approach.
