Junior Chef

As a Junior Chef, you will be an integral part of the kitchen team, Under the guidance of senior chefs, you will learn various culinary techniques, support inventory management, and contribute to delivering high-quality dishes. This role is ideal for someone passionate about food, eager to develop their skills, and ready to take on the challenges of a dynamic kitchen environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in Food Preparation & Cooking – Prepare ingredients, follow recipes accurately, and assist in cooking dishes.
  • Maintain Kitchen Cleanliness & Hygiene – Ensure workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment are kept clean and comply with food safety regulations.
  • Support Senior Chefs – Assist in plating dishes, food presentation, and inventory management.
  • Monitor Food Quality – Ensure consistency in food taste, texture, and presentation according to kitchen standards.
  • Oversee Inventory & Ordering – Assist in stock management, report shortages, and ensure kitchen supplies are well-stocked.
  • Develop New Recipes & Menus – Work with the culinary team to experiment with new dishes and contribute to menu development.
  • Monitor Equipment & Maintenance – Ensure kitchen equipment is functioning properly and report any issues to management.
  • Adhere to Safety & Sanitation Guidelines – Follow food safety regulations, maintain personal hygiene, and ensure compliance with health and safety protocols.

Requirements:

  • Culinary diploma, certification, or equivalent hands-on experience in a professional kitchen.
  • Basic cooking knowledge, including food preparation and handling techniques.
  • Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure kitchen environment.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn and take direction from senior chefs.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for long hours.
  • Capable of handling kitchen equipment safely.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications:

  • Certification in Culinary Arts or equivalent training.
  • Food safety and sanitation certification is a plus.
  • Passion for cooking and eagerness to develop culinary skills.
  • Ability to adapt to different kitchen environments and responsibilities.
