About you
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
- Make a difference in a commercial organisation and to our Iron Ore & Copper businesses
- Shape our strategy and bring strong financial and commercial acumen to advise on complex but exciting projects
- With the Iron Ore & Copper Sales & Marketing VPs, own the revenue performance analysis and KPI's to influence future performance and support its execution
- Strong collaboration with global stakeholders across Operations, Risk, Market Analysis, Strategy, Tax, and Treasury
- Based in Singapore, a global commercial hub for Rio Tinto, managing a team based locally, and reporting to the GM Commercial Finance

Drive performance management by providing commercial and financial insight to:
- Provide actionable insights into top line, bottom line, ROCE, and cash performance, through the production of a wide range of financial analysis.
- Identify opportunities and risks, and proactively make recommendations.
- Enable leadership, across Commercial and Operations, to hold the organisation to account, monitor progress against plan, and challenge variances.
- Enable proper support, cost budgeting, and management for the business in conjunction with Controllership.

- Influence senior management in shaping commercial strategies, priorities, and delivering outcomes.
- Partner with Market Analysis and Business Analysis to collaborate on major investments and support significant commercial negotiations.
- Model financial plans and forecasts for the business.
Support risk management and assurance
- Together with Commercial Risk, identify risks for new initiatives (e.g., trading, partnerships, and other customer initiatives).
- Enable the efficiency and effectiveness of associated governance and compliance processes relevant to our businesses (including SOx and audits).
Drive change initiatives and transformation in Finance
- Support a range of commercial and group projects.
- Identify efficiency gains and performance improvements.
- Use best practices and knowledge of the internal and external business environment to provide advice to the business and improve processes and performance.
- Develop finance capability within the business: Work with the Group to ensure fit for purpose systems, processes, KPIs, reporting, planning, and forecasting.
- Manage and develop junior FBP's.
About you
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
- A deep-seated curiosity and willingness to learn about the business and partner with stakeholders across Commercial, PG Finance, and Controllership.
- A love for connecting people across the Group to solve problems.
- Proactive participation underpinned by the ability to objectively assess, reflect, and challenge performance and plans for the business.
- 15+ years of finance experience (e.g., CFA, MBA, CA), ideally with exposure to commodities.
- Experience in effectively managing and influencing a diverse team of stakeholders and building relationships in a matrix model.
- Experience in leading a team, including providing guidance and mentorship, evaluating employee performance, recommending pay actions, and managing workload.
- Strong analytical and logical skills to contribute to and support strategic and forward-thinking
- Drive for continuous improvement, value creation, and risk.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, leadership, and presentation skills.
