Risk Control Specialist/Manager

Job Summary:
The Risk Control Specialist is responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks that could impact the company's ability to achieve its objectives. This role involves analyzing data, developing risk management strategies, and working closely with various departments to ensure a comprehensive approach to risk management. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and a deep understanding of risk management practices.
Responsibilities:
1. Risk Identification and Assessment: Identify potential operational, financial, strategic, and compliance risks, conduct assessments to gauge their likelihood and impact, and maintain a risk register to track these risks.
2. Risk Mitigation Strategies: Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks, collaborate with department heads to establish effective controls, and monitor the success of these efforts.
3. Compliance and Regulatory Adherence: Ensure compliance with laws and regulations, stay updated on legislative changes, conduct compliance audits, and prepare reports for senior management.
4. Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze risk data for trends, prepare detailed risk reports and presentations for leadership, and maintain dashboards for ongoing risk monitoring.
5. Training and Awareness: Conduct training sessions to raise employee awareness of risk management practices and distribute relevant policies and procedures.
6. Incident Response: Assist in creating business continuity and disaster recovery plans, coordinate responses to risk incidents, and document and analyze incidents to prevent recurrence.
Requirements:
- Bachelor degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., FRM, PRM, CRISC) preferred.
- Minimum of three years of experience in risk management, compliance, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in risk management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- In-depth knowledge of risk management principles and regulatory requirements.
