About the Role

As a Financial Controller, you will play a key role in ensuring strong financial governance, accurate reporting, and operational efficiency. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to support business growth and maintain compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Compliance

• Lead preparation and review of high-quality monthly financial statements and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with local statutory requirements and internal policies.
• Coordinate and support year-end statutory audits, liaising with external auditors to ensure timely sign-off.
• Oversee tax matters, including company tax filings, transfer pricing, and GST compliance with external tax agents.

Financial Operations

• Work closely with Shared Services Centre and Finance team to ensure smooth daily operations across AP, AR, GL, Treasury, and month-end activities.
• Monitor internal controls and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce risk.
• Support cash management, intercompany transactions, and treasury-related activities.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis

• Provide analytical support during budgeting, reforecasting, and month-end closing processes.
• Assist with financial modelling and scenario planning for retail operations.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Commercial, and HR, to support business objectives and ensure financial alignment.
• Manage relationships with external auditors, tax agents, and company secretary for compliance matters.

Requirements

• Degree or professional certifications in Finance/Accounting (e.g., ACCA, CPA, ICAEW).
• At least 5 years in a similar role, preferably in retail or FMCG. Big 4 audit firm experience is a strong advantage.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, Singapore tax regulations, and internal controls. Proficient in SAP and advanced Excel.
• Detail-oriented, analytical, proactive, and adaptable. A strong team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage internal and external stakeholders.
