The Metals Trader will be a member in FO/Material Biz Office, one of the trading books in Singapore, reporting to the department head and supporting SK On's commodities trading business. Requirements and Roles include:
- Minimum 5 years of trading experience, including storage and physical trading operations of Base Metals (Copper, Nickel) and/or Battery Metals (such as Lithium).
- Ability to execute and manage a metal product trading book (Physical / Paper) and related trading operations.
- Ability to reconcile trades, maintain updated trading profile throughout the trading day, update P/L and project MTM.
- While the focus will be on trading a specific metal in which the trader has expertise, the trader should also be capable of partially covering other metals (including both base and battery metals such as copper, lithium, and nickel) as required by business needs.
- Experience in Shipping and Import/Export Documentation.
- Experience in trading business development, creating new trading flows and networks.
- Continually solicit requests for ad-hoc analysis relevant to the business or participate in related projects and provide any other logistical support as may be required.
- Experience in THOR/CXL system is an advantage.
- Experience in Propriety Paper Trading and Physical Price Hedging.
- Manage Spot / Term Contract Terms.
- Organic Understanding of Global Metal Supply/Demand Balance and dynamics.
- Provide overviews of Cargo Tracking and Market Analysis.
- Coordination with Battery Metals procurement team for Trading Optimization.
- Maintain Close Communication with HQ (Korea) for Accommodating System Requirements and Refining Activity Changes.
- Furnish Trading Activity / Market Intelligence Reporting on a weekly, monthly basis as required.
- Produce daily Mark to Market Reporting.

- Provide other traders with technical and fundamental market information and recommend methods of hedging and leveraging its position.
- Provides market analysis and reporting as required.
[Compliance]
- Adherence to all internal and external regulatory requirements and limits.
[Management Reporting]
- Be ready for 24/7 reporting on anything related to metal market to Management.
- Perform research and regularly report on market analysis, trading position and strategy to Management (bi-weekly/Monthly/Quarterly/Yearly).
- Prepare strategic management reports and work closely with Seoul HQ on trading activities.

Candidate Profile

- Bachelor's Degree holder in Trading, Business or related areas.
- Experience in trading, commodity markets including hedging/price risk management and storage/blending operations.
- Good understanding of the international metals business.
- Ability to keep up-to-date with industry news, market trends, regulations, and developments.
- Exceptional understanding of business development strategies and analytical skills.
- Extensive experience in negotiating spot and term contract trades with customers.
- Capable of maintaining CRM (customer relationship management) systems and good general administrative skills.
- Coordinating with operations, credit finance/accounting departments to ensure operational and financial performance.
- At ease with working in a multicultural environment and ability to interact effectively with individuals of all levels in the organization.
- Effective team player with excellent oral and written communication skills and strong stakeholder management skills.
- Highly motivated and organized individual who exhibits strong integrity, work ethics and ability to perform under pressure.
