This junior position offers a rare opportunity to engage in full-spectrum portfolio management and advisory services for Japanese-speaking clients, including portfolio strategy, client communication, execution, and operational oversight.
Although this is a junior role, we are looking for a candidate who can operate as a true contributor from day one-either through prior hands-on experience or proven analytical strength and drive.

Key Responsibilities
- Support portfolio management and investment advisory for Japanese-speaking UHNW clients
- Work closely with the internal Senior Portfolio Manager/relationship manager on asset allocation strategies and investment proposals
- Perform market and product analysis; assist in fund selection and portfolio construction
- Monitor client portfolios and prepare regular performance reports
- Manage client communication, address inquiries, and handle trade/execution instructions
- Assist in day-to-day operations such as account opening, trade processing, and KYC documentation
- Liaise with global private banks and financial institutions (communication primarily in English)
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you must be able to demonstrate either:
- 2-3 years of hands-on experience in portfolio or fund management, OR
- A strong foundation in investment theory with the ability to apply concepts in practice (e.g., CFA candidates, top-tier university graduates with outstanding analytical skills)
Other essential requirements include:
- Native-level Japanese, and strong English (spoken and written business proficiency)
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Python (including pandas, numpy, scikit-learn, matplotlib, backtrader)
- Experience in building systematic trading strategies, either independently or as part of a team
- Background in quantitative model design, including factor-based, momentum, or machine learning-based approaches
- Familiarity with backtesting and performance analysis of investment strategies
- Solid understanding of risk metrics such as VaR, Sharpe ratio, drawdown, etc.
- Strong interest and hands-on involvement in automated trading and portfolio construction
- Demonstrated ability to improve workflows via coding, including tool development and process automation
- Knowledge of trading front-end systems and protocols (e.g., FIX, IBKR, MT4)
- Motivation to lead teams or take on project management responsibilities
- Strong sense of ownership, initiative, and persistence
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and portfolio reporting tools (e.g., Bloomberg, FactSet)
- Tech literacy and willingness to learn new systems and tools

Work Hours
- Core hours: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM (SGT)
