Operations span all product lines and markets, serving as internal business partners who develop the processes and controls, and help to specify the systems that deliver accuracy, timeliness and integrity to our business.
Global Banking & Markets Division (Equity Derivative & Structuring Operations) is responsible for ensuring efficient and accurate transaction processing across a broad range of products. Generally, the products supported are complex instruments that require close alignment with the business. A key focus for the organization is establishing strong risk management procedures and controls to ensure the firm and our clients are properly protected. Global Banking & Markets Division is at the forefront of shaping and driving change in the industry with the ultimate aim of delivering greater accuracy, control and efficiency for our clients and our businesses.
The Derivatives Risk Middle Office acts as first point of contact for the various Equity and Equity Derivatives Trading desks, assisting in the execution of both new client and hedging activity. Our clients execute across a range of products e.g OTC and Listed Options, Securitized Issuances, Structured Derivatives, Synthetics, and cash Equity. It is our responsibility to ensure positions are booked in a timely manner and maintained accurately in our risk systems throughout the lifecycle of the product. There is a strong emphasis on knowledge and expertise, which requires that all team members be fully versed in products and systems used and how our day to day tasks impact the bottom-line of the firm.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Actively manage risk & P&L by providing operational support to all equity front office personnel
- Assist with and perform allocation of a high number of OTC trades across a number of flows & resolution of any resulting economic breaks
- Efficiently handle incoming queries from Trading, Sales, External Clients & other internal federation teams (Engineering, Compliance, Legal, Controllers, etc.)
- Perform trade and risk reconciliation and monitor controls around the different business supported.
- Owning and liaising with other teams within GS to ensure timely resolution of queries, seeing operational issues through to resolution by connection with various stakeholder across multiple locations
- Monitor and control operational risk throughout the trade processing lifecycle
- Become a subject matter expert to mitigate risk and drive efficiencies
- Manage real-time trade booking exceptions internally between the Trading desk and Sales team
- Collaborate with our technology and business partners to enhance systems and workflows
- Reconciliation of GS books and records to the exchanges
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- Proactive, enthusiastic, and creative approach with very high attention to detail
- Displays ability to meet multiple deadlines in a dynamic, fast paced environment
- Effective problem solving and critical thinking skills along with the ability to use discretion and good judgment
- Strong interpersonal skills that facilitate strong execution with Sales, Trading, Legal and structuring teams
- Contributes to the effectiveness of the team by working closely with colleagues in sharing information, skills, and responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of work experience in Finance or related field
- Experience in an Equity Derivative, Commodity or Foreign Exchange documentation team or product area, including structured transactions
- Ability to remain composed under pressure
- Takes actions to ensure that controls are in place and procedures are followed
- Candidate must have good communication ability, be proactive, enthusiastic and team oriented
