Job Purpose

We are seeking a Full-Stack Developer to build a new, robust web-based risk management platform for our wealth and asset management businesses, based in Singapore. In this role, you will work closely with the Risk team to translate business requirements into a scalable, intuitive solution. We encourage using AI-based tools for coding productivity, and there is potential to integrate AI-driven features (e.g., social media sentiment analysis) into the risk management framework.

Key Responsibilities

(a) System Architecture & Development
  • Design and develop a full-stack web application to handle large volumes of financial data for risk and performance reporting.
  • Implement data structures, APIs, and microservices to support risk and analytics features.
  • Ensure the application is responsive and user-friendly across desktop and mobile platforms (including Outlook/Edge).

(b) Data Management & Integration
  • Develop or integrate services for real-time/batch data ingestion and processing from internal and external sources.
  • Collaborate with the Risk team to clarify data needs and ensure secure, efficient handling of sensitive information.

(c) Analytics & Reporting
  • Build dashboards, reports, and visualizations for stakeholders to monitor portfolio-level and firm-wide metrics.
  • Explore AI-driven analytics, such as natural language processing (NLP) or machine learning (ML), analyzing alternative data (e.g., social media sentiment) and bolster risk monitoring.

(d) AI & Automation
  • Leverage modern AI developer tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Cursor, GitHub Copilot) to streamline coding, testing, and documentation.
  • Propose and implement AI-based solutions that add value to risk management, such as LLMs for automated sentiment analysis, anomaly detection, or predictive modeling.

(e) Security & Compliance
  • Adhere to enterprise security standards and regulatory requirements, implementing robust access controls and audit logging.
  • Collaborate with IT and Compliance teams to ensure any AI integrations meet data privacy and compliance standards.

(f) Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Work closely with the Risk team and other stakeholders to refine technical specifications and user requirements.
  • Provide clear documentation and training to ensure smooth adoption of new system features, including AI-based functionalities.
  • Gather feedback from end-users and iterate quickly to address evolving business needs.

(g) Maintenance & Continuous Improvement
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and plan enhancements.
  • Stay up to date on emerging technologies, AI frameworks, and best practices to continuously improve reliability, scalability, and user experience.

Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications

Technical Skills
  • Programming Languages & Frameworks: Proficiency in one or more server-side languages (e.g., Python, C#, Node.js) and front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js).
  • Database Systems: Strong knowledge of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server) and familiarity with NoSQL solutions (e.g., MongoDB).
  • Web Technologies: Expertise in RESTful APIs, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Cloud & DevOps (Preferred): Experience with AWS, Azure, or other cloud providers; familiar with CI/CD pipelines and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • AI Tools (Preferred): Familiarity with AI/ML libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn) or LLM frameworks; comfortable using AI-powered coding assistants (e.g., ChatGPT, Cursor, GitHub Copilot).

Business Understanding
  • Basic exposure to financial data structures and demonstrate willingness to learn.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical designs with guidance from the Risk team.

Soft Skills
  • Collaboration & Communication: Skilled at working with non-technical stakeholders and presenting complex technical ideas simply.
  • Problem-Solving: Capable of handling ambiguous requirements and crafting solutions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Adaptability: Open to learning new technologies, AI approaches, and evolving project needs.

Education & Experience
  • A master's in computer science, software engineering, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimally 1-3 years of professional experience building and maintaining data-intensive, full-stack applications.
