Job Summary:

The Finance Business Partner plays a key role in both strategic financial planning and daily financial operations. This position blends full-spectrum accounting responsibilities with forward-looking financial analysis, budgeting, and business partnering. You will work closely with operational teams, provide insights that drive business performance, and ensure the company's financial health through rigorous control and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Full-Spectrum Accounting
  • Manage the full set of accounts, including general ledger, accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and bank reconciliations.
  • Handle month-end and year-end closing activities and prepare financial statements.
  • Process payroll, statutory filings (e.g., CPF, IRAS), and GST submissions.
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and regulatory bodies.

2. Financial Planning & Analysis
  • Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecast processes.
  • Prepare management reports, P&L analysis, cash flow statements, and financial dashboards.
  • Conduct cost analysis, identify variances, and provide recommendations for cost control and efficiency.

3. Business Partnering
  • Work closely with operational and commercial teams to align financial plans with business goals.
  • Support pricing strategies, cost models, grant applications, and investment evaluations.
  • Provide financial input for decision-making on capital expenditures, hiring, and service development.

4. Cash Flow & Working Capital Management
  • Monitor daily cash balances and forecast short-to-medium-term cash flow.
  • Oversee receivables collection, supplier payments, and procurement-related financial planning.
  • Optimize working capital and advise on funding or financing strategies as needed.

5. Process Improvement & Systems
  • Improve financial processes, controls, and automation to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Evaluate and implement accounting or lab system integrations (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, or LIMS platforms).
  • Support digitalization efforts and internal reporting enhancements.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business. CPA, CA, or ACCA qualification preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in an accounting or finance role, preferably in an SME or service-oriented industry.
  • Systems: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel.

  • Hands-On and Detail-Oriented: Comfortable managing daily accounting while also thinking strategically.
  • Analytical Thinking: Strong ability to translate numbers into business insight.
  • Communication: Able to clearly explain financial information to non-finance colleagues.
  • Independence: Self-driven and resourceful, with the ability to operate with minimal supervision.
  • Integrity and Confidentiality: High ethical standards and discretion with sensitive data.

Working Conditions:
  • Office-based at our Singapore headquarters (192 Pandan Loop).
  • Regular engagement with laboratory operations and management teams.
  • May involve extended hours during reporting deadlines or project cycles.
