Demurrage Analyst (Tankers)

Responsibilities:
Requirements:
- Provide support to the tanker operations team in managing demurrage and other shipment-related claims
- Conduct laytime analysis to evaluate demurrage liabilities and inform customers of any potential claims
- Ensure prompt and consistent communication with customers regarding claim submissions, progress updates, and approaching time-bar deadlines
- Actively engage in discussions and diligently follow up on all unresolved claims until they are fully settled
- Update and maintain a database with shipment details, claim information, and status tracking
- Issue invoices and ensure timely follow-up on outstanding payments
- Develop familiarity with shipping documents, charter party agreements, and their interpretations to enhance negotiation capabilities during claim discussions
- Support the department with documentation, administrative tasks, and other duties as directed by the department head
Requirements:
- Diploma in Maritime Studies or a relevant discipline
- Prior exposure to claims handling or commercial shipping operations would be an advantage
- Cheerful, proactive, and eager-to-learn individual
- Highly self-motivated, detail-focused, and thorough in work approach
