This is a newly created role to support the development of a new quant trading team. This role sits at the intersection of data engineering, quantitative research, and trading risk and support, and will play a critical part in transforming raw market data into actionable insights and scalable trading processes.

Job Responsibilities

• Build and maintain data processing pipelines for market data feeds
• Develop scripts to clean, transform, and analyse large datasets
• Ensure data quality and integrity across research databases
• Create and maintain analytical tools and dashboards for real-time monitoring
• Automate routine tasks including signal generation, position tracking, and P&L reporting
• Assist in developing and backtesting quantitative trading strategies
• Conduct statistical analysis to identify trading signals and market patterns
• Support the team in evaluating strategy performance and risk metrics
• Work closely with the Portfolio Manager to understand market dynamics and strategy logic
• Assist in preparing reports and presentations for portfolio reviews
• Participate in team discussions on strategy improvements and new opportunities

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field: Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science
• Proficiency in Python
• Solid understanding of statistics and probability theory
• Experience with data analysis and visualization
• Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Ability to work with large datasets and identify meaningful patterns
• Comfortable working with mathematical models and quantitative concepts
• Intellectual curiosity and genuine interest in commodity markets
• Self-motivated with ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts clearly
• Resilient mindset and ability to learn from both successes and setbacks
• Prior experience in quantitative finance or commodities preferred
• Understanding of financial instruments (futures, options, swaps), knowledge of SQL or database management, and familiarity with version control (Git) will be advantageous
