Overview

A rapidly expanding energy trading business is seeking a commercially minded professional to support its growth across conventional and low-carbon fuel markets. This role focuses on identifying new opportunities, shaping commercial structures, and delivering strategic projects that will strengthen the company's position within Asia's evolving energy landscape. The successful candidate will be involved in origination, commercial modelling, partnership development, and cross-functional project execution.

Key Responsibilities

Market Development & Opportunity Identification

• Explore new business opportunities in low-carbon fuels, hydrogen derivatives, and adjacent markets across Asia.
• Assess regulatory developments and competitive dynamics to support long-term market positioning.

Commercial Structuring & Deal Execution

• Shape commercial frameworks covering offtake agreements, pricing structures, JV/M&A considerations, term deals, and partnership agreements.
• Support negotiations and execution of commercial arrangements with counterparties and strategic partners.
• Contribute to revenue strategies and new commercial models to enhance profitability.

Project Leadership & Business Case Development

• Lead structured project delivery with clear planning, governance, and stakeholder alignment.
• Build robust business cases supported by financial models, SWOT assessments, and cross-functional inputs.
• Maintain oversight across regional projects, ensuring alignment with global strategy.

Cross-Functional & Regional Collaboration

• Coordinate with legal, finance, trading, strategy, and technical teams to ensure seamless implementation of initiatives.
• Engage regularly with global offices to ensure projects progress according to overall corporate direction.
• Facilitate cross-team workshops and prepare briefing materials to support decision-making.

Analytics & Insights

• Conduct complex market analysis, modelling, and competitive assessments to support commercial decisions.
• Develop pricing recommendations and analytical outputs in collaboration with internal trading teams.

Strategic Partnerships

• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, technology providers, and regulatory bodies vital to business growth.

Requirements

• Strong background in commercial development, structuring, project execution, deal frameworks, and financial modelling in the energy sector.
• Experience working with low-carbon fuels, biofuels, hydrogen derivatives, or related markets.
• Excellent commercial judgement, analytical ability, and understanding of APAC energy regulations.
• Ability to operate in a matrix environment with multiple stakeholders.
• Demonstrated experience in origination or trading-related commercial roles.
• Able to manage complex projects under tight timelines.
