Role Overview

The Coffee Sourcing & Sustainability Analyst is responsible for overseeing ethical coffee bean sourcing, supporting sustainability initiatives, and using data analysis to guide decisions across marketing, operations, and product strategy, aligned with Muro Coffee's initiative to promote sustainable coffee sourcing and processing for domestic vibrant coffee industry. This role bridges supply chain knowledge with business insights to improve quality, efficiency, and brand impact within the café.

Key Responsibilities

Coffee Bean Sourcing & Sustainability

• Research and evaluate coffee bean suppliers with a focus on ethical sourcing, traceability, and environmental sustainability, particularly in Vietnam market which has growing market supply and demand
• Build and maintain relationships with Vietnamese roasters, importers, and farms aligned with sustainability standards (e.g., fair trade, direct trade, organic)
• Monitor supply chain risks related to climate, pricing volatility, and availability
• Support sustainability reporting and storytelling for customer-facing materials

Data Analysis & Industry Trends

• Collect and analyze data on coffee industry trends, pricing, consumer preferences, and emerging sustainability practices
• Track sales performance by bean origin, roast type, and seasonal offerings
• Use data to forecast demand and inform purchasing decisions
• Prepare insights and reports to support management decision-making

Marketing Insights & Strategy

• Translate sourcing and sustainability data into compelling marketing narratives
• Support marketing campaigns by identifying trend-driven opportunities (e.g., single-origin, limited releases)
• Analyze customer feedback and purchasing behavior to refine product positioning
• Collaborate with marketing teams to measure campaign effectiveness

Operations Efficiency

• Analyze inventory, waste, and ordering patterns to improve cost efficiency
• Recommend process improvements for sourcing, storage, and stock rotation
• Support pricing strategies based on cost analysis and market conditions
• Help optimize supplier selection to balance quality, sustainability, and margins

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong interest in coffee, sustainability, and ethical supply chains
• Data analysis skills (Excel, Google Sheets, or basic BI tools)
• Insight into Vietnam's rapidly growing domestic coffee culture and evolving consumer preferences
• Cultural and language fluency to engage with farmers, cooperatives, exporters, and roasters
• Ability to interpret market trends and consumer data, primarily in Vietnamese and Singapore market
• Strong research and reporting skills
• Excellent communication and cross-team collaboration abilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in business, sustainability, supply chain, or data analytics
• Experience in the coffee or food & beverage industry is a plus
• Knowledge of coffee certifications and sourcing models will be a bonus
