About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Biofuel Trader to drive trading activities primarily in the South Asia market with a focus on India in the initial stage, while also exploring global opportunities. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of the biofuels industry, including regulatory frameworks, supply chains, pricing trends, and international markets. This role requires strong analytical skills, negotiation capabilities, and the ability to build relationships with suppliers, customers, and key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and execute biofuel trading opportunities in South Asia region and international markets.

• Monitor market trends, government policies, import/export regulations, and sustainability requirements impacting biofuel trading

• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, distributors, refineries, and end-users.

• Negotiate purchase and sales contracts, ensuring favorable terms and risk management.

• Implement hedging policies via paper trades along with potential speculative positions in accordance with our physical flows.

• Track logistics, shipment schedules, and ensure timely delivery of biofuel products.

• Analyze market data to provide pricing strategies and forecasts.

• Collaborate with internal teams (risk, finance, legal, and operations) to optimize trade execution.

• Ensure compliance with all regulatory, environmental, and sustainability standards.

• Prepare periodic trading reports, performance analysis, and market insights for management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Chemical Engineering, Energy Management, or related field.
• >7 years of experience in trading biofuels, energy commodities, or related sectors.
• Strong understanding of the Indian biofuel market, policies, and global biofuel supply chains.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with commodity trading platforms and financial risk management tools is a plus.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
