ROLE OVERVIEW
We are seeking an early-mid career finance professional who is looking to deepen their expertise in financial control within an investment management environment. This role offers extensive hands-on exposure across fund controllership, financial reporting, and investment operations, with structured guidance from senior team members.
You will manage key finance workflows and learn the full spectrum of financial controls, governance, regulatory requirements, and systems change within a buy-side organisation.
This position is ideal for someone who is technically strong, highly motivated, and eager to grow.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Support the controllership of multi-asset portfolios, working closely with senior team members to ensure accurate financial oversight.
• Participate in change management initiatives, including transitions to new systems and operating models, with opportunities to be trained in project execution.
• Assist in the oversight and refinement of regulatory reporting, ensuring compliance with local and international financial reporting standards.
• Contribute to risk management and process improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for operational enhancement and helping implement streamlined workflows.
• Take responsibility for aspects of governance and internal control processes within the back-office function, with guidance and mentorship from senior colleagues.
• Support the preparation of board packs covering back-office areas such as financials, compliance monitoring, and operational controls, and assist with ongoing improvements to the reporting framework.
• Contribute to strategic financial planning and support mid-office processes to enhance investment performance analysis, portfolio oversight, and operational efficiency.
• Perform periodic reconciliations of financial and investment records.
• Assist in maintaining and organising the finance data repository.
• Stay current with Accounting & Transfer Pricing policies as well as International Financial Reporting Standards, with opportunities for continuous learning.
• Liaise with 3rd party service providers including auditors and fund administrators.
• Undertake other ad-hoc tasks and projects as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
• Degree holder in Accounting, Finance, Business or Economics, preferably with experience in fund controllership, financial control, fund accounting, or investment reporting.
• Experience participating in, or supporting, change management initiatives-such as system rollouts, process enhancements, or implementation of new operating models-within a fund management or financial institution environment.
• 5-7years of relevant experiencein fund accounting, financial control, investment reporting, or related areas. Candidates with strong fundamentals and a willingness to learn will be considered.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyse investment performance metrics, identify trends, and perform risk assessments.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and prioritise work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Exhibits a calm and composed demeanour, with a strong sense of urgency and accountability in delivering high-quality work.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify operational inefficiencies and support the development and implementation of process improvements.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office tools; familiarity with Bloomberg or other portfolio management systems is an advantage (training will be provided as needed).
• Self-motivated, hands-on, takes initiative, and able to work both independently and collaboratively within a small team.
