The Financing and Advisory Group sits within the Global Banking & Advisory business line and covers 8 industry sectors. Our industry sector teams are international teams with offices in Europe, Asia Pacific and the Americas. We offer a full range of finance (in particular, project finance and asset finance) and advisory services with a strong focus on delivering the best banking products for each industry sector. We provide services to a diverse group of clients including local and international corporates, the public sector, developers and investors.
We are currently recruiting an Analyst to join our Financing and Advisory Group in Singapore. This is an exciting opportunity to get hands-on experience within a fast-paced, results focused, global organisation that values diversity and that has strong growth ambitions for the Asia Pacific business.

The successful candidate will primarily support the origination and execution activities across a broad range of structured finance transactions (project finance and asset finance) in the Asia Pacific market. The candidate will work across sector teams within Financing and Advisory, with a focus on project financing transactions with particular sector focus on the Infrastructure (i.e transport, grid and regulated utilities, social infrastructure and PPPs, waste and water) and the Technology, Media and Telecom/TMT (i.e. datacenters, fiber, telecommunication towers). Based in Singapore, the candidate will need to work closely with the Hong Kong, Sydney, Tokyo and Mumbai teams as required, as well as regional teams in South-East Asia. The candidate will also work with other areas of the bank such as client coverage, loan syndication, sustainable finance, debt capital markets, credit risk management and market risk management.

This is an Analyst position within the Financing and Advisory junior pool. The candidate will report into the local manager of the junior pool and work closely with the junior pool staffers on work assignment. As part of the junior pool, the candidate will be expected to demonstrate ability to work with a diverse group of stakeholders including learning from seniors of sectors teams, participation in junior training program and knowledge sharing with other junior staff.

Primary responsibilities include:
  • Contributing to the identification and origination of potential new business opportunities and assisting with preparation of research and marketing materials;
  • Providing day to day transaction support in all aspects of the deal process including preparation of credit applications, due diligence and assistance with utilisation of internal models;
  • Building financial models, analysing financial scenarios and producing sensitivity analysis;
  • Reviewing documentation, including information memorandum and finance documents;
  • Managing other internal processes relating to advisory and financing transactions e.g. updating databases, briefing notes, completing internal system-based processes;
  • Respecting all relevant compliance practices and other internal requirements in relation to the execution of advisory & lending transactions

Note: All shortlisted candidates will be required to complete a project finance modeling test, which will be administered by members of the junior staff team.

Profile Required:
  • Minimal Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Solid experienced in project finance/ non-recourse transaction is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability in project finance modelling preferred.
  • Fluency in English is required, additional Asian language is preferred.

Operational Skills
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint proficiency
  • Ability to perform financial projections and credit analysis
  • Review of various documentation, including information memorandum and finance documents
  • Keeps abreast of evolving industry trends and market updates in Energy, Infrastructure and TMT sectors in Asia Pacific region
