What You'll Do

• Own the fundamental view of the Australian National Electricity Market (NEM), staying ahead of supply-demand shifts, generation mix changes, policy updates, and transmission dynamics.
• Build predictive models-ranging from real-time demand forecasting to seasonal price formation and congestion scenarios-using both traditional fundamentals and quantitative methods.
• Integrate machine learning, time-series analysis, and optimization techniques to enhance forecasting accuracy and operational scalability.
• Collaborate closely with traders, quants, and data engineers to shape actionable insights from research-ensuring theory translates into trading edge and strategy.

Who You Are

• Deep expertise in the Australian power market, preferably gained through trading, utilities, market operations, or regulatory exposure.
• Strong track record in fundamental modelling and scenario analysis.
• Proficiency in quantitative research, including handling large datasets, applying statistical modeling, and building machine learning pipelines.
• Technical fluency with tools like Python, SQL, R-or similar-and the ability to interface effectively with engineering and quant teams.
• A results-driven, high-impact mindset that excels in a fast-paced, flat, collaborative environment.
