Catastrophe Portfolio Manager

Key Responsibilities:
• Portfolio Management:Manage and oversee high-volume, small line size portfolios across APAC, ensuring alignment with Sompo's overall business objectives.
• Strategic Support:Collaborate closely with local teams, offering guidance and support in portfolio management strategies tailored to regional needs.
• Pricing Workflow Improvement:Analyse and refine workflows to address inefficiencies and optimize accuracy for high-volume transactions.

What you'll be doing:
• Transition Responsibilities:Smoothly transition current providers responsibilities back to the in-house Sompo team.
• Local Market Education:Educate and develop best practices in local markets.
• Alignment with Sompo's Capabilities: Ensure projects and practices align with Sompo's broader capabilities and strategic goals.
• Portfolio Planning & Analytics Support: Assist local teams with PML planning, enhance portfolio reporting through tailored analysis for decision-making, and support the development and refinement of pricing models.
• Event & Model Management: Manage event response activities outside the global process and conduct light-touch model validation to complement existing responsibilities.
What you'll bring:
• Portfolio Management Expertise:In-depth knowledge of Catastrophe portfolio management, particularly for high-volume, small line size portfolios, as distinct from traditional transactional operations.
• Technical and Analytical Skills:Proficiency in managing complex technical data, with the ability to interpret analytics and guide market education.
• Strategic Development:Experience in developing and implementing best practices for portfolio management to support continuous improvement and efficiency.
• Market Collaboration:Strong capability to work with local and regional teams, providing guidance and education to enhance market understanding and alignment with strategic goals.
• Technical Skills:Proficient in catastrophe modelling tools, primarily RMS; strong command of SQL and advanced Excel skills for data analysis. Detail-oriented with the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders and communicate complex information clearly and concisely.
