At FGE NexantECA, the Gas/LNG team delivers a suite of services that provide valuable insights, analysis, strategic advice, and analytics on the global gas and LNG markets, with a particular focus on country-level developments in the East of Suez region. Our LNG market coverage spans the entire value chain, adding value to downstream companies and traders seeking to identify market opportunities and/or secure available supplies, as well as to upstream companies looking to sell LNG.
As part of FGE NexantECA's global team, the successful candidate will analyse gas/ LNG markets, strengthening their existing numerical and analytical skills while progressing toward becoming a regional or subject-matter expert. In addition, they will gain exposure to the full gas/LNG value chain, offering a driven and motivated individual an accelerated learning curve and exceptional industry insight.
About the Role
We are currently offering a full-time position within FGE NexantECA's Gas/LNG team in Singapore. Our team delivers cutting-edge market analysis with a strong focus on commercial insight. As the world transitions towards decarbonization, understanding energy systems holistically becomes increasingly important.
We employ a combination of modeling techniques and both qualitative and quantitative research to support our forward-looking views. This is an exciting opportunity for motivated individuals seeking exposure to the dynamic energy sector.
Key Responsibilities
• Collecting data and information with regards to market fundamentals (supply, demand, trade) and pricing for gas/LNG.
• Analysing and modelling of market fundamentals of gas/LNG. Build forecasts, databases, and evaluations for FGE NexantECA's short-term and long-term gas/LNG services.
• Writing analytical reports (retainer and ad-hoc reports) will be a key part of job scope.
• Analysing macro and micro economic data pertaining to oil, NGLs and gas/LNG.
• Providing research support to consultants and senior analysts.
• Preparing both internal and external client presentation material and answering client queries.
• Communicate insights through published notes, presentations, calls, emails and meetings with clients and prospects.
• Coordinating and engaging in project and retainer work.
Applicant Requirements
The ideal applicant will be a highly numerate graduate with oil/gas industry experience; alternatively, from finance, engineering, economics, or similar background, and will possess the following attributes:
• 1-3 years of analytic or research background in the gas/LNG industry. Fresh graduates relevant with internship experience are welcomed.
• Ability to undertake independent research and work with a project team.
• Strong analytical skills, ability to obtain pertinent information and develop effective models.
• Excellent numeracy/written skills and comfortable working with large data sets from disparate and often unstructured sources. Strong Microsoft Excel skill is a must.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Fluency in English is essential for this role. Knowledge of other Asian languages is a plus.
• Able to legally work in Singapore.
• Ability to perform in a deadline driven environment and deliver work in a timely manner.
• Ability to work effectively with regional offices to promote products globally.
• Display a deep-seated curiosity for learning
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Familiarity with data analytics, visualization, and automation tools (e.g., Python with Pandas and related libraries, Power Query, Power BI) is a plus.
