Underwriting Manager - Singapore

We are seeking an experienced Underwriting Manager to drive profitable growth and operational excellence in our Singapore business. This role will oversee day-to-day underwriting activities, portfolio and product management, and reinsurance support, while leading a small team of underwriters.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage underwriting operations, guidelines, authorities, and ensure compliance.
• Monitor portfolio performance, frequencies, and loss ratios; implement tactical actions to meet targets.
• Lead product development and enhancements driven by customer insights and regulatory requirements.
• Partner with Pricing, Sales, Marketing, Claims, and IT to deliver underwriting and business initiatives.
• Represent the company with regulators, industry associations, and other external stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with relevant insurance certifications (e.g. BCP, PGI, ComGI, CPCU, ANZIIF, CII).
• Strong underwriting, product development, and portfolio management experience.
• Proven ability to lead teams, analyse performance trends, and drive improvements.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
