about the Job
As a Senior Application Support Analyst, you will be responsible for the delivery of support services for enterprise, shared platform, and data programs. This includes working with third-party vendors, supporting testing strategies and ensuring quality assurance compliance, and driving continuous improvement in support practices. You will play a critical role in ensuring projects meet quality and performance benchmarks.
- Manage day-to-day issues, including daily health checks of applications and processes, working closely with various stakeholders (Users, Development team, Vendor, Infrastructure team, Operation team, and Incident and Management team, etc.) to prioritize and resolve reported production incidents.
- Act as the focal point for critical/high-impact incident resolution for application systems in production.
- Manage and support high-availability 24/7 production systems with an on-call option during non-office hours with team member's rotation on a weekly basis. Require to be on-site depending on issue criticality.
- Ensure end-of-day batch processes are completed successfully for multiple applications.
- Own production operational issues by issuing an initial response, data gathering, tracking, and resolution where possible, as well as determining escalation protocol based on the nature of the issue.
- Direct resources on cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex systems issues.
- Investigate production issues and provide workarounds to users to move business forward. Engage analysis to L3/Vendor teams for further investigation.
- Manage and respond to users in a timely manner for reported production issues/clarification.
- Perform Disaster Recovery (DR) exercises for applications.
- Generate reports as per user request/audit request.
- Participate in problem governance calls with business users, development, and vendors to prioritize problem tickets.
- Ensure services are brought up after system maintenance/OS patching/DB patching activity.
Skills and Experience Required
- Experience as an Application Team Lead, Senior Developer, or Tester, particularly in IBM Mainframe environments.
- Strong technical skills in COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2/SPUFI, SQL, VSAM, ISPF, Jira, OPC Batch Scheduler, GitLab/GitHub, and ServiceNow.
- Experience in IT specifications, detailed design, coding, unit and integration test planning and execution.
- Hands-on experience in managing release activities and deploying components in test and production environments.
- Experience delivering testing services for enterprise applications under agile and waterfall methodologies.
- Familiarity with Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and user story refinement.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and performance tracking capabilities.
- Ability to lead support initiatives and collaborate across application, security, infrastructure, and business domains.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- At least 6 years of relevant experience, preferably in a Finance Institution.
Essential:
- Minimum 8-10 years of hands-on experience in Java, J2EE, JMS, Webservices, Microservices, Oracle, UNIX, IBM MQ Series, CTRL+M, Splunk.
- Strong Swift product knowledge and hands-on experience in supporting Swift-related products like Swift Alliance, Alliance Messaging HUB, GPI, SAG/SNL.
- Hands-on experience in IT Operations/Production support L2/L3.
