SCOPE

Reporting to the Director of Sales & Marketing, the Groups & Events Manager is essential to the advancement of the hotel's market position in the Groups & Events sector. This role contributes to the focused sales efforts of Groups & Events Team to oversee groups & events files, ensures optimal utilization and revenue maximization of the hotel's event spaces including theatre, ballroom, restaurants and guest rooms, while following Kempinski's standards.

OVERALL OBJECTIVES
  • Assist with qualification and coordination of event enquiries (including leads, RFPs, etc.) and handle requests according to the relevant standards
  • Generate proposals, contracts, BEOs and Group Resumes
  • Review results including forecasts and revenue tracking, to provide recommendation and execute strategies to increase market share and maximize revenue
  • Handle converted confirmed events business/meeting and handover group files (from the Sales team) and oversee until post-event
  • Collaborate closely with Sales team to engage and build relationships with clients
  • Collaborate closely with Banquet, F&B, Rooms and Operations teams to ensure smooth handover and executive of all groups and events, and to ensure that clients need are fulfilled
  • Introduce Banquet Manager to the clients and be present throughout the events
  • Consolidate feedback from the clients after events and groups departure, and share it with relevant departments to celebrate success or identify areas for improvement
  • Thoroughly input, supervise and maintain the requests in the Opera S&C System according to the data input standards
  • Perform additional administrative tasks and other ad-hoc duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum Diploma in Business Administration, Marketing or Hotel Management with 5 years' experience in a similar capacity
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • Possesses theability to adapt communication and working style to suit various stakeholders
  • Positive attitude and team player with ability to work independently, thrive under pressure in challenging circumstances and come up with proactive, rational solutions.
  • Resourceful, customer-focused, able to multi-task and work within tight deadlines
  • Proven ability in driving successful events
  • Hotel operations experience is a plus
  • Analytical approach to problem solving and demonstrated ability to "think outside of the box"
