Manager, Events and Vibrancy Program
The Vibrancy Program unit is responsible for bridging the University with its surrounding environment, turning NTU into a vibrant and dynamic locale where academia, community, culture, and social activities harmoniously interact.

The unit acts as the focal point to coordinate a multitude of external and internal requests on programming, use of spaces and visits. Research and development of campus tours to cater to varied visitors' interests will also be a key responsibility of the unit.

The Manager, Vibrancy Programme at NTU, plays a vital role within the NTU Hospitality and Events Office. This position is responsible for the implementation and management of initiatives that contribute to the vibrancy and inclusivity of campus life. Working under the direction of the Deputy Director, the Manager focuses on translating strategic plans into actionable programs that foster a dynamic campus environment.

The ability to align with the overall strategic vision while managing the complexities of daily operations requires a blend of creativity, operational expertise, strong communication skills, and a passion for community building. The Manager's responsibilities also encompass monitoring the effectiveness of implemented programs and making data-driven decisions to continuously enhance the quality and impact of campus vibrancy initiatives at NTU.

Acting as the central nexus, the Manager will act as the focal point on managing requests and enquiries on campus vibrancy related activities and filter the requests to the Deputy Director for further development and refinement of strategies.

The role contributes significantly to the overall mission of the University by fostering an immersive and enriched campus experience for students, faculty, staff, and wider community which aligns with and brings to life the aspirations of the NTU 2025 strategic plan.

Responsibilities
  • Implementation of Strategies: As the Manager, the job holder is responsible for implementing and executing the strategies and initiatives of the Vibrancy Programme unit. This includes resource allocation, financial management and collaboration with partners and stakeholders, and determining the most effective ways to collaborate and measurement of success.
  • The job holder will need to meticulously monitor, analyse, and prioritize various feedback and requests coming from different stakeholders, such as students, faculty, external partners, and the broader community. This includes: Assessing Relevance and Significance: Each piece of feedback or request must be thoroughly evaluated for its relevance and significance to NTU's mission, goals, and values. This involves understanding the context, underlying concerns, potential impact, and alignment with the university's strategic direction.
  • Managing Negative Feedback: Handling negative feedback requires tact, empathy, and strategic thinking to address genuine concerns while maintaining NTU's reputation and relationship with the stakeholders.
  • Handling Requests: Determining how to respond to out-of-scope requests without alienating stakeholders is a delicate balancing act.
  • Developing FAQ and Response Strategies: Creating and regularly updating a comprehensive FAQ and response protocol helps in addressing recurring concerns efficiently. This must be done thoughtfully to ensure that it aligns with NTU's communication style and objectives.
  • Ensuring Timeliness: Timely responses are essential to maintain trust and demonstrate that NTU values the opinions and needs of its stakeholders.


Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, hospitality, events management, or related fields.
  • A deep understanding of the university environment, student life, and community engagement strategies.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of strategic planning, events and project management, stakeholder and financial management is necessary.
  • At least 6 years of experience in a leadership role in a comparable environment, such as in community engagement or student life at a university or large organization.
  • Proven track record of executing strategic initiatives and handling large-scale projects. Extensive experience in fostering and sustaining collaborations with diverse internal and external stakeholders is critical.
  • Exceptional project management skills with the ability to inspire and align a team of collaborators.
  • Strong strategy implementation and operational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to build and maintain positive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Effective negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Financial acumen and budget management skills.
