Overview:

We are representing a major infrastructure operator involved in large-scale energy projects. This position sits within the owner's engineering team and is responsible for leading the electrical engineering discipline across capital projects, spanning from early-stage feasibility and design through to construction and commissioning phases. The role offers exposure to complex brownfield upgrades and is ideal for individuals with strong engineering foundations and stakeholder coordination experience in large industrial environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the electrical discipline focal point within the project team, representing the owner in managing consultants, EPC contractors, and equipment vendors.
• Develop and issue technical documentation including basis of design, scope of work, and specifications for feasibility, FEED, and EPC stages.
• Review and assess engineering proposals from consultants and vendors, and provide input on their technical capabilities.
• Evaluate, validate, and approve electrical engineering deliverables for capital projects.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders across project management, multi-discipline engineering, and operations teams to align on engineering outcomes.
• Support compliance with local statutory requirements by reviewing submissions and assisting contractors with regulatory approvals.
• Attend and witness Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) to ensure quality and specification compliance.
• Validate engineering databases and design tools such as SmartPlant (SP3D, SPE) to ensure accurate digital records.
• Oversee the completeness and quality of as-built documentation and ensure proper handover into document management systems.
• Promote and ensure adherence to internal quality standards and QA/QC processes.

Requirements:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Relevant certifications such as LEW, COMPEX, or equivalent would be advantageous.
• Minimum 10 years of electrical engineering experience in process industries such as oil & gas, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, or utilities.
• At least 5 years' experience in a lead engineer capacity, managing FEED and EPC deliverables on large-scale energy infrastructure projects.
• Prior involvement in at least 2 full-cycle FEED or detailed engineering EPC projects.
• Strong hands-on experience in electrical system design, vendor engagement, and power generation/distribution systems.
• Familiar with local and international codes and standards, and proficient in software such as ETAP and SmartPlant suite.
• Prior exposure to site execution phases (installation, construction, commissioning) within terminal or complex plant environments will be a strong plus.
