Role Overview

Akkodis is seeking qualified and experienced Test Engineers specializing in Wayside and Vehicle systems. The role involves ensuring the successful installation, testing, and commissioning of communication-based train control systems, with a focus on wayside infrastructure and vehicle signaling.

Key Responsibilities

Planning and Coordination
  • Update and maintain Installation, Test, and Commissioning (ITC) documents according to specifications.
  • Interface clarification and technical integration of communication systems within stations, waysides, and depots.
  • Provide technical support and clarify installation, testing, and commissioning issues with subsystems, customers, and consultants.
  • Report on work progress and identify non-conformities, troubleshooting system errors, and coordinating remedial actions.
  • Liaise with procurement and logistics for material deliveries aligned with testing schedules.

Installation Activities
  • Preference for candidates with installation background/experience.
  • Knowledgeable about quality control processes and handover procedures from installation to testing.

Test and Commissioning
  • Singapore Special Requirements (Optional): Preference for LEW license holders, experience in brownfield projects, and knowledge of train delivery and testing.
  • General Requirements: Proficiency in Linux, Windows operating systems, networking, electrical and software troubleshooting, integration testing, and relevant international standards.

HSE
  • Strict adherence to safety rules, regulations, and procedures during internal and subcontractor operations.
  • Conduct periodic site audits, deliver toolbox talks, and produce risk assessment documents related to testing activities.

Job Responsibilities

Specific Skills (Wayside)
  • Proficiency in Wayside/ATS (HMI control) systems.
  • Knowledgeable about vehicle signaling systems (optional).

Specific Skills (Vehicle)
  • Experience in vehicle signaling installation, testing, and commissioning.
  • Optional experience in rolling stock.

Generic Skills
  • Ensure sites are equipped with necessary installation and test tools, ensuring calibration as per BT standards.
  • Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and contribute to FAT plans.
  • Conduct site commissioning activities for radio-based train control systems, including Functional tests, System Acceptance Test (SAT), and System Integration Test (SIT).
  • Coordinate with Engineering/suppliers for design modifications based on test results.
  • Record, report, and endorse test results, ensuring timely and cost-effective testing activities.
  • Collaborate effectively with client teams to ensure successful project handover and post-implementation operation.
  • Plan and schedule ITC activities in alignment with the rolling and master program.
  • Prepare and implement red corrections and field change orders as per released drawings.
  • Verify installation quality, raise concerns over any issues, and troubleshoot as necessary.
  • Read and interpret drawings and circuit diagrams, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
  • Maintain a good understanding of EMC, interlocking testing, and applicable test methods.
  • Possess a good command of English for effective communication.
