Micron Technology is seeking an experienced, passionate, and visionary leader to join our team as the Director of Global Environmental Compliance and Sustainability. This role is critical in driving Micron's environmental compliance and sustainability strategies and initiatives to ensure compliance with global environmental regulations, minimize environmental impact, and enhance resource efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive global environmental compliance and sustainability strategy aligned with Micron's corporate goals and values.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant environmental laws and regulations across all regions where Micron operates. Monitor changes in environmental legislation and adjust company policies accordingly.
  • Policy Development: Create and oversee the execution of environmental policies and programs that promote sustainability and regulatory compliance.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, industry groups, and non-governmental organizations, to advance Micron's environmental compliance and sustainability agenda.
  • Resource Management: Lead initiatives to improve resource efficiency, including energy, water, and raw material usage, and to reduce waste and emissions across all global operations.
  • Reporting and Transparency: Oversee the preparation of detailed global environmental reports for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accuracy in all sustainability disclosures.
  • Innovation and Best Practices: Champion innovative approaches, including embracing artificial intelligence solutions, and best practices in environmental compliance and sustainability to drive continuous improvement and industry leadership.
  • Team Development: Build and lead a high-performing team of environmental compliance and sustainability professionals to achieve strategic objectives and deliver measurable results.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate environmental risks and ensure that Micron's operations are resilient to environmental challenges.

Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Sustainability, or a related field. A Master's degree or Ph.D. is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in environmental compliance or sustainability, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Expertise: Deep knowledge of global environmental regulations, sustainability standards, and best practices in the semiconductor or technology industry.
  • Skills: Strong strategic thinking, project management, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Leadership: Proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams and driving organizational change.
  • Passion: A genuine passion for environmental sustainability and a commitment to making a positive impact on the planet.

Plans and manages the regulatory compliance function. Implements an on-site inspection program required to ensure that the operating units are in compliance with all Federal, State and local regulations related to environmental control, health and safety of employees and the public. Determines through independent investigation all existing and potential health, safety, and environmental control problems within the organizational unit. Prepares regulatory compliance reports to management. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
