As a Technician, you will be responsible for handling complex technical tasks in planning, designing, and implementing maintenance programs for facilities and equipment. You will be expected to build effective and meaningful relationships with production staff and ensure adherence to procedures.

In this role, a typical day will include:

• Handle complex technical tasks related to the planning, design, and implementation of maintenance programs.
• Coordinate maintenance engineering activities and collaborate with production teams to align repair work, statutory inspections, and new equipment supply with production schedules.
• Review mechanical and electrical engineering specifications, assessing new equipment for maintainability, part availability, and long-term reliability.
• Participate in the installation and commissioning of new equipment and systems.
• Exercise sound judgment in minor technical decision-making, applying strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strictly adhere to Good Practice (GxP) regulations by following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintaining accurate, timely documentation.
• Ensure rigorous quality control in all work performed and complete all mandatory training programs on schedule.
• Fulfill individual job responsibilities while contributing to the organization's regulatory compliance and continuous improvement efforts.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by Supervision.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:

• Higher Nitec, Nitec, or Diploma in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related discipline within pharmaceutical manufacturing.
• Familiarity with Maximo, as well as experience in electrical, instrumentation, mechanical control systems, calibration, and validation, will be advantageous.
• Strong technical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Solid interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficient in basic computer applications.
• Capable of working in a cleanroom environment while adhering to GMP standards.
  Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to take initiative and contribute in a team-based setting.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams to achieve operational goals.
• General knowledge and application of aseptic techniques.
• Willingness and ability to work on a 12-hour rotating shift schedule.
