Company Overview

Our client is a leading engineering and construction firm driving Singapore's green-energy transition. They specialise in large-scale underground pipeline projects that enable reliable delivery of gas today and hydrogen-ready infrastructure for tomorrow.

Role Summary

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will own the design, commissioning, operations and maintenance of underground gas transmission systems. You will ensure engineering excellence, stringent safety compliance, and seamless project delivery-while introducing the latest low-carbon technologies and materials to support our energy-transition goals.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Commissioning
  • Plan, organize and execute mechanical works for commissioning and de-commissioning of gas and hydrogen pipelines.
  • Review and develop SOPs, Emergency Response Plans and inventory controls for spares, tools and equipment.

Operations & Maintenance
  • Supervise daily O&M activities to guarantee safe, reliable performance of transmission infrastructure.
  • Embed hydrogen-compatibility checks, material selection criteria (H₂ embrittlement mitigation) and predictive-maintenance programs.

Safety & Compliance
  • Enforce statutory Codes of Practice (WSH, SCDF, EMA, PUB) and internal safety standards.
  • Incorporate emerging hydrogen- and carbon-transport regulations (ISO/TC 197, ASME B31.12) into process-safety reviews.

Technology & Innovation
  • Evaluate low-carbon pipe materials (PE-RT, composites) and renewable-powered cathodic-protection systems.

Stakeholder & Contractor Management
  • Coordinate with internal teams, clients, consultants and regulators to align project scopes, budgets and schedules.
  • Supervise subcontractors and suppliers; advise clients on decarbonization grants and Singapore Green Plan 2030 requirements.

Tender & Emergency Support
  • Assist in tender evaluation with ESG scoring criteria; review quotations and technical proposals.
  • Perform rotational standby duties for after-hours emergency activations (hydrogen-specific scenarios included).

Qualifications & Experience
  • Education: Diploma (minimum- from recognized Polytechnics in Singapore) or Degree (preferred) in Mechanical Engineering (PEB-recognized University).
  • Experience: At least 3 years in design, construction, commissioning or maintenance of gas and/or hydrogen pipeline infrastructure.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams).
    • Working knowledge of AutoCAD or BIM; familiarity with pipeline-design/energy-modelling tools (CAESAR II, Rohr2, Aspen HYSYS, PVsyst) is a plus.
  • Core Competencies: Strong problem-solving, organizational and interpersonal skills; self-motivated with a positive attitude.
  • Other Requirements: Valid Singapore Class 3 driving license (own transport advantageous); Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident.

Compensation & Work Schedule
  • Salary: Commensurate with experience (indicative range S$3,000 - 5,800/month).
  • Hours: Mon-Fri 08:30 - 18:00; alternate Saturdays 08:30 - 12:30.

Join us and be at the forefront of Singapore's transition to a low-carbon future!
