Automation Engineer (Pharma/ Siemens/ PLC Scada)

Salary : Up to $7,000 depending on experience

Our Client is a US MNC and a pioneering leader in the Pharmaceutical industry. They are currently seeking experienced and forward-thinking professionals to join their IT Team in Singapore

Job Purpose

• Responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining automated systems within our pharmaceutical manufacturing processes.
• Pivotal in ensuring that the automation systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with industry regulations.
• The ideal candidate will have a extensive background in automation, programming, and computerized system validation within a pharmaceutical or related environment.

Responsibilities

Automation System Development:

• Design and implement automation solutions for various pharmaceutical manufacturing processes.
• Evaluate and select appropriate hardware and software tools for automation projects.

Programming and Configuration:

• Develop and maintain PLC, HMI, SCADA, DCS, and other automation control systems.
• Write and debug software programs and scripts to optimize automation processes.

System Integration:

• Integrate various automation systems with existing manufacturing systems and ensure interoperability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, Quality, and Production to ensure seamless integration.

Validation and Compliance:

• Prepare SDLC and validation protocols for automation systems to ensure compliance with FDA, cGMP, and other regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records as required by regulatory standards.

Troubleshooting and Maintenance:

• Monitor automation systems for performance and reliability; troubleshoot issues as they arise.
• Conduct regular maintenance and upgrades to automation systems to enhance functionality and compliance.

Project Management:

• Manage automation projects from conception through implementation, ensuring timely completion within budget.
• Develop project plans, timelines, and resource allocation strategies.

Training and Support:

• Provide training and support to manufacturing personnel on the use of automation systems.
• Act as a point of contact for troubleshooting and technical support related to automation systems.

Continuous Improvement:

• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in automation.
• Stay updated on the latest technologies and advancements in automation within the pharmaceutical sector.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or related field).
• Minimum of 3-5 experience in automation system engineering in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
• In-depth understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes and regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency in automation software platforms such as Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Wonderware and OSI PI.

Relevant certifications in automation (e.g., Certified Automation Professional, Six Sigma)
