Job Description

• Analyze customer requirements and operational workflows to develop tailored automation concepts that address their unique needs.
• Coordinate and prepare detailed system proposals including layouts, technical documentation, cost estimates, and project schedules-ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
• Integrate controls, safety systems, and IT requirements (WMS/WCS) into layout designs while identifying opportunities for innovation and differentiation.
• Apply application rules to calculate conveyor and machine performance, ensuring system efficiency and capacity alignment.
• Liaise with internal departments, product centers, and external suppliers to source accurate technical and commercial inputs for equipment and services.
• Ensure proposals are optimized in terms of design and cost, maintaining technical integrity and competitiveness in the market.
• Highlight and evaluate potential technical risks associated with proposed solutions.
• Lead pre-sales design reviews with Sales, Engineering, and Commercial teams to align on solution scope and cost.
• Ensure seamless transition of project documentation and design details to the engineering team post-sale.
• Support the development and enhancement of costing tools and templates to improve process accuracy and efficiency.
• Stay informed about new technologies and competitor solutions to ensure remains at the forefront of innovation.
• Assist the sales team with technical discussions, site surveys, and customer meetings to clarify solution design.
• Conduct internal presentations and updates on product solutions and technical developments.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by the manager to support team and project success.

The Successful Applicant

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or equivalent).
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in solution design, pre-sales engineering, or system integration-preferably within the automation, material handling, or logistics industry.
• Strong knowledge of intralogistics systems, including conveyors, automated storage or sortation.
• Proficient in AutoCAD (2D and/or 3D) and MS Excel; experience with simulation or visualization tools is a plus.
• Familiarity with cost estimation, technical proposal development, and layout optimization.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate operational needs into effective design concepts.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and customer engagement.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Team-oriented, self-motivated, and adaptable to evolving project scopes and technologies.
