Civil Fire Fighting Engineer

(FIRE PROTECTION ENGINEER)

Responsibilities

- Reporting to Civil Manager

- Responsible for EPC work of Fire Protection & Detection System and HVAC of power plant station

- Responsible for constrcution work of HVAC of power plant station

- Plan and prepare station requirements (subcon, suppliers, materials, equipment) base on baseline program and work with technical/contracts department to finalize and submit for approval

- Achieve progress in accordance with programs and within budget

- Control the usage and minimize wastages of major building materials such as Ducting, pipe, amongst other materials

- Carry out daily team meetings and site inspection with project staff and produce tasks and action plan notes

- Handover and track actual progress vs planned

- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly progress report for Manager to review

- Liaise with Owner/ site team/ subcontractors on the scheduling and execution of all structural/ architectural/ M&E works

- Liaise with Design team on engineering technical issues

- Manage safety / underground services diversion and temporary works

- Liaise with Quality and EHS departs to implement on site

- Control subcontractors and suppliers for the timely closure of issues relating to quality and safety

- Plan and prepare MSRA/Documents for necessary permit base on baseline program, including government and owner (company) permit, and work with technical/contracts department to finalize and submit for approval

- To monitor and supervise sub contractors'work progression according to shop drawings, method statements, material and samples

- To liaise and work with relevant authorities, sub-contractors or clients on shop drawings, materials and samples

- Review and align Fire protection design drawings to ensure compliance with design specifications and guidelines (Sprinkler System, Fire Alarm System, Hose reel System, Wet/Dry riser system, Fire Hydrant System, Fire man intercom system)

- Knowledge in M&E and able to Identify discrepancies between M&E, structural, ID, architectural and client provisions

- Plan and lead testing and commissioning of the fire protection systems.

- Plan and prepare OMM, training, As-Builts drawings for handing over of completed fire protection systems to client.

- Follow up with maintenance of fire protection systems during DLP

Requirements :

- Must possess min 8 years of smoke detection, fire protection, and fire fighting system engineering experience with Degree in Fire fighting protection recognized by the PE Board or qualification acceptable to the Commissioner of Building Control as eligible for application as a Resident Engineer OR recognized degree in the relevant field subject to the acceptance of the Engineer and at least 5 years of experience in managing firefighting and HVAC construction work for projects of similar scale in Singapore, complexity and nature of work

- Must possess all the training certificates required on a firefighting engineer

- Familiar with local engineering/construction laws and regulations in Singapore

- Familiar with engineering Permit, License, Approval etc. in Singapore is a plus

- Have more than two project construction experience, EPC project management experience is preferred

- Comlete training of (MWAH) WSQ MANAGE WORK-AT-HEIGHT and (SWCSO) SUPERVISE WORK IN CONFINED SPACE OPERATION is preferred

- Able to start work on short notice will be an advantage

- Able to speak Chinese and English will be an advantage
