Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Optical Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain DWDM networks using industry-leading optical transport equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in optical transmission systems, network troubleshooting, and performance optimization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design, implement, and optimize DWDM and optical transport networks.
• Configure and troubleshoot optical networking equipment.
• Perform link budget analysis, power balancing, and optical signal testing.
• Work with ROADM, coherent optics, and OTN technologies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure network reliability and performance.
• Conduct site surveys, network audits, and capacity planning.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for optical impairments, fiber issues, and equipment failures.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in optical networking and DWDM technologies.
• Hands-on experience with optical transport platforms.
• Knowledge of fiber optics, EDFA, Raman amplifiers, and coherent DWDM systems.
• Familiarity with network protocols (OTN, SONET/SDH, Ethernet, MPLS, etc.).
• Strong troubleshooting skills using OTDR, OSA, and BER testers.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

• Certifications in optical networking and transport technologies.
• Experience with software-defined networking (SDN) for optical networks.
• Familiarity with automation and scripting (Python, Ansible) for network management.
