EngineeringWe are seeking passionate scientists who wish to develop innovative methods in the metagenomic assembly field. Our lab is focused on leveraging new technologies to better study microbial populations and their impact on human health. In this context, our lab has extensive experience in metagenomic analysis and has developed several widely used tools in this field. We?re now focusing on new methods to obtain a comprehensive catalogue of complete genomes at the strain level from metagenomic samples, which can be further leveraged for comparative genomic analysis.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a highly interdisciplinary environment, with unique access to next-generation sequencing technologies and a wide range of samples. Solutions developed during this project will have direct applications to ongoing and new microbiome research projects in the lab, particularly in studying antimicrobial resistance and skin diseases.
The Nagarajan Lab is based in the Genome Institute of Singapore (GIS) which is the national flagship program for genomic sciences in Singapore with a mission to use genomics to improve public health and national prosperity. Singapore is a highly cosmopolitan city-state at the cross-roads of Asia with one of the highest standards of living in the world.
The GIS provides an internationally competitive remuneration package and relocation assistance.
Requirements:
How To Apply: E-mail cover letter, research statement, curriculum vitae, and contactdetails of at least three referees to Niranjan Nagarajan (nagarajann@gis.a-star.edu.sg)
The above eligibility criteria are not exhaustive. A*STAR may include additional selection criteria based on its prevailing recruitment policies. These policies may be amended from time to time without notice. We regret that only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
