The Air Traffic Management Research Institute (ATMRI), established in 2013 through a strategic partnership between NTU and the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), is a premier institution dedicated to advancing the science and technology of air traffic management. ATMRI aims to enhance the efficiency, safety, and sustainability of the worldwide air transport system.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Exploring best practices and methods for human-machine integration.
  • Designing human-machine interaction interfaces that meet user needs and workflow.
  • Analyzing and optimizing users' cognitive load.
  • Developing and testing user-friendly interaction designs to improve work efficiency.
  • Conducting qualitative and quantitative research to collect user feedback for improving the design.
  • Collaborating across disciplines with human factors engineers, cognitive scientists, and other teams.
  • Writing research reports and design guidelines to document findings and recommendations for the project.


Job Requirements:
  • A Master's degree such as Industrial Engineering, Industrial Design, Ergonomics, Human Factors or relevant fields.
  • Significant experience in evaluating and designing human-machine interaction interfaces.
  • Excellent knowledge of experiment design and data analysis.
  • Proficiency in essential evaluation techniques like event-related potentials (ERPs) and eye-tracking.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
