The Energy Research Institute @ NTU (ERIAN) invites applications for the position of Research Engineer I.

As a Research Engineer at EcoLabs, NTU, the candidate must be highly passionate and an enthusiastic player for solving problems in sustainability solutions by building and implementing machine learning, and deep learning algorithms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Research, design and implementation of algorithms for multiple applications including energy optimization, carbon accounting and sustainability solutions.
• Create statistical tools to identify, analyze, and interpret patterns and trends in complex datasets.
• Develop, integrate and deploy artificial intelligence and machine learning applications for real-world, large-scale problems.
• Work with programmers, engineers, and management heads to identify process improvement opportunities, propose system modifications, and devise innovative solutions
• Develop prototypes, conduct feasibility studies, design system specification and implement the sustainability solutions in real world applications.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's/Master's in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Information Science, Electrical Engineering/Electronics and Communication Engineering with specialization in Data Science.
• Strong foundations in design, analysis, and implementation of algorithms.
• Expertise and experience in machine learning, data modelling and deep learning
• Basic understanding of statistical modelling and applied mathematics is preferred.
• Strong theoretical and practical background in pattern recognition, classification, regression, natural language processing.
• Familiarity with Python and deep learning libraries is necessary.
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
• Team player and ability to prioritize work.
• Ability to develop machine learning and data analysis solutions using Python
• Have critical thinking to discover and synthesize connections in the data
• Analyze and assess the quality of data and derive meaningful connections in the data.
• Ability to work with stakeholders and create customized data analytic tools and machine learning solutions to extract meaningful information from the data.
• Able to translate and apply his/her knowledge to work across multiple applications
