The School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) invites applications for the position of Research Engineer (RE). The RE will support the research project titled "Heterogeneously Integrated Autonomous Microsystems," which form integral parts of next generation tetherless physiological monitoring toolkits. The RE will work on a project to conduct the research on development of autonomous microsystems and its opto-electrical power and communications interface to enable low power smart physiological sensors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Development of compact and cost-effective opto-electrical interface to power and communicate with autonomous microsystems.
  • Development of incubator-based interface to enable cellular measurements.
  • Development of a low form-factor, high-sensitivity photodetectors based on printed circuit boards (PCBs) and other off-the-shelf components. The photodetector systems is expected to be robust enough to be integrated with tissue-research related setups such as an incubator.

Job Requirements:
  • Bacherlor's in mechanical or electrical and Electronic Engineering
  • 1 year research experience in a related area
  • Expertise in optoelectrical interfaces
  • Knowledge in interfacing circuit design for power extraction
